A 24-carat gold plated edition of the Apple iPad will be displayed in the Dubai Mall's Collector Palace from November 15.
According to
Arabian Business the luxury item was designed by the London company
Gold & Co. Befitting a collector's piece only 250 gold iPads will be made available. As yet the price of the iPad has not been revealed.
An official from the Collectors Palace
said: "One unit will be displayed at Dubai Mall and pre-orders will start soon after the launch tomorrow night.”
In addition to Dubai the luxury gold-dipped iPad will be sold in other rich locations, including Moscow, Hong Kong, Qatar, and the U.K. The company has also launched a limited edition of solid gold mini iPads.
Dubai has a reputation for attracting exclusive luxury items. Earlier this year the world's most
expensive cupcake, priced at over $1,000, went on sale in Dubai. The cupcake was decorated with edible 23 carat gold sheet.
