article imageAllen West continues fighting tooth and nail for US House Seat

By Can Tran     Nov 7, 2012 in Politics
While projected to lose his US House seat, GOP incumbent Allen West of Florida isn't giving up. It seems that he plans on fighting tooth and nail in this undecided race.

As Election Day 2012 is over, there are still races that are supposed to be over; but, they're not. There is one race that is deemed to be costly like the US Senate race in Massachusetts. In the case of Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren was triumphant against GOP incumbent Scott Brown. Warren has made history as being Massachusetts' first female US senator and reclaiming the seat that belonged to the late Edward Kennedy who had held the seat for decades. However, there is a race in Florida that should be paid much attention to: the US House race between GOP incumbent Allen West and Democratic challenger Patrick Murphy.
According to several media outlets, it was projected that Murphy would win and unseat West; however, West isn't giving up. It seems that West is going to fight this battle tooth and nail. So far, this is currently the only House race in that state that hasn't been called.
West has known to be a critical opponent of Barack Obama, the Democratic incumbent just re-elected as United States President, and the Democratic Party. West has received much support with Republicans that identify with the Tea Party.
At this moment, the race is still undecided between Murphy and West. West has already demanded a recount. The one question remains: Will Murphy win or will West be re-elected? If Murphy wins, that can be counted as another crucial victory for the Democrats. There are the 2014 elections coming up revolving around Senate, House, and governor races.
