The hacker group Anonymous is at it again, this time targeting Paypal and numerous other sites, claiming it to be part of the group's “November 5th protest.”
Anonymous claimed responsibility for the Paypal attack on their Twitter page, saying:
"Paypal hacked by Anonymous as part of our November 5th protest"
Another Tweet stated:
"PayPal, Symantec and Others Hacked by #Anonymous"
They also told followers to remember that the group planned to mark November 5th with hacks and protests.

The group's Facebook page also announced the Paypal hack, saying:
“PayPal hacked: The following database dumps are brought to you by Anonymous as part of our November 5th protest against the banking blockade and consumerism in general.”
According to a Mashable report, the group claimed responsibility for defacing several Australian and Ecuadorean websites, along with Imageshack. Hacker News is also reporting that "Stun", an Anonymous member, leaked VMware ESX Server Kernel source code.
Cyber War News is confirming that several sites in Australia have been hacked. Sites confirmed to be hacked are:

Besides hacking websites, Anonymous has also planned protest marches. The Anonymous Facebook page issued a statement at approximately 5:50 EST saying:
"Hundreds of Anonymous supporters assembled in London’s Trafalgar Square for Operation Vendetta March to the Houses of Parliament. The second strong action hit Washington.
On November 5th we march on Washington DC peacefully and unarmed to arrest all members of congress, the president, and all supreme court justices where they will be held without bond until a full independent investigation and trial have been completed. We must re-elect our government within 90 days in order to stave of unrest.”"
The Monday website attacks, protest in London and the planned events for November 5th, are all part of Anonymous' Operation Vendetta.
