London - English Defence League leader Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (known as Tommy Robinson) is due to celebrate his thirtieth birthday on 27 November behind bars, on remand at Wandsworth Prison, London.
According to Gates of Vienna, the prison has a backlog of mail and the three staff checking the mail are about two to three weeks behind. Therefore any birthday cards should be sent as soon as possible to the following address:
Stephen Lennon
HMP Wandsworth
Heathfield Road
London SW18 3HS
Message from Tommy Robinson
Gates of Vienna reports that Tommy sent the following message to his well-wishers:
“Big thanks to everyone for all the letters/postal orders I’ve been receiving, thanks also to everyone that is writing to MPs about me being locked up. I’ve had some very positive letters and it is raising my spirits. I’ve also put in a request to transfer to Bedford Prison.”
Support for imprisoned EDL leader
As reported by Digital Journal, there was a protest in Berlin, Germany in support of Tommy Robinson, which has now turned into a weekly vigil.
Just fewer than 1,000 complaint letters have been sent to the High Sheriff of Greater London Ms U Banerjee CBE, as part of a campaign to ensure the EDL leader's safety in prison.
