By Mathew Wace Peck     Oct 31, 2012 in Entertainment
His movie isn’t due for release until June 2013, but a preview trailer featuring Chris Colfer and co-star Rebel Wislon has now been released.
Struck By Lighting – Colfer’s debut feature as star and writer – tells the story a young man who, after being struck by lightning and killed, recounts the way he blackmailed his classmates into contributing to his school’s literary magazine.
The film, which is directed by Brian Dannelly (Saved!) and co-produced by Glenn Rigberg and Colfer himself, received its premiere in April this year, at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Chris Colfer is best known for his role as Kurt Hummell, an out-gay high-school student, in the Fox TV musical drama series Glee. Wilson is well known for playing Brynn in Bridesmaids (2011) and fat Amy in 2012’s Pitch Perfect.
Earlier this year, Colfer, 22, told Entertainment Weekly, “It’s about all the kids in high school who are overachieving in their own right and under-appreciated for it just like I was. I think it’s very sarcastic and very real. I hope it goes to show that there are still lots and lots of smart kids out in the world. It’s about smart kids and not about stupid kids who wanna get laid and that’s their biggest goal in life.”
