Lindsay Lohan's recent Hurricane Sandy tweet, an attempt to raise spirits and alleviate fears, has seemingly exploded in her face.

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, also known as "Frankenstorm Sandy," celebrities are taking to social media as a means alleviate the fears and raise the spirits of evacuees and those that going to be affected by this mega storm that threatens the eastern coast of the United States. Celebrities do what they do best in such times, try to lighten things up with their own senses of humor while making sure not to downplay the dangers posed by Hurricane Sandy.
According to Kelly Ripa, she got called into work anyway though she wanted to stay home. Joining her in today's show was Michael Straham. Pictures taken of the show's filming showed that the crowd that attended was very small.
Celebrities gave their tweets of wishing safety for everybody in their own ways. Such celebrities include Chelsea Clinton, Alec Baldwin, Joy Behar, Bethanny Frankel, and so forth.
In the case of Lindsay Lohan, her way of trying to make people feel better fell short and blew up in her face. On her Twitter, Lohan was asking why people were being fearful about Sandy. Then, she said that people needed to think positive. She even went as far to nickname it “Hurricane Sassy.”
With the potential damage that Hurricane Sandy tends to cause to the East Coast, perhaps Lohan's right on the dot with the nickname.
However, Lohan was re-tweeted by thousands of people criticizing the remark about Hurricane Sandy. An ABC blog posts an implication that Lohan might need a publicist to help her out in that remark. Even when one's mind is in the right place, things can be said in the wrong way. Many people have replied to the blog with negative responses towards Lohan.
