article imageOp-Ed: Why does everybody hate Gilad?

By Alexander Baron     Oct 29, 2012 in Politics
London - Gilad Atzmon is making music again, and this time it is discordant to Palestinian ears as well as Jewish ones, if you believe the 'Jewish Chronicle'. But who does?
In his book The Wandering Who? Gilad Atzmon says that at one point he was the most hated Jew in the world, not by the goyim but by his fellow Jews. It is easy to understand why he rubs up so many people the wrong way; we are none of us perfect, and if people tell us constantly all about our faults and nothing else, we might just conclude they don't like us. Atzmon makes no secret of his hatred of Zionism, which contrary to the facile assertions of Abraham Foxman does not make one an anti-Semite, but he seems to have a rose-tinted view of the rest of the world. The UK is, he says, a nation that embraces freedom of expression. Not that John Terry noticed, nor Mohammed Hasnath.
Atzmon's love affair with jazz has led him to believe blacks can do no wrong. He may have thought differently if he'd walked into an after hours left hook thrown by Floyd Mayweather, or been riding that bicycle instead of Ashraf Rossli.
It is probably taking things a bit too far though to blame International Zionism for loving Jimmy Savile, as he does. Okay, for the sake of argument, let us assume that Savile turns out to be as black as he is now being painted - no, not black in that sense, dummy. Should the headline ARCH PAEDOPHILE JIMMY SAVILE WAS A DEVOUT ZIONIST AND AN ISRAEL SUPPORTER cut any ice either way?
In November last year, Jewish Chronicle correspondent Jessica Elgot wrote a glowing obituary for Savile, pointing out that he had attended her batmitzvah. Many Jews spoke well of him, which may indicate that in the paranoid world of UK Zionism he was regarded as neither a paedophile nor an anti-Semite. Savile also took a holiday in Israel back in 1975, which makes him what, the second coming of Vladimir Jabotinsky? The simple fact is that whatever nonsense Elgot may have since written about Rabbi Ahron Cohen, she, the Jewish Chronicle and the rest of the world were taken in by Savile (most but not all would say).
If Atzmon can badmouth the Jewish Chronicle, the paper has nothing kind to say about him. Earlier this year, it reported that he and Ken O'Keefe had come under fire from Palestinian activists; O'Keefe for his claim that the Mossad was directly involved with the 9/11 attacks, and Atzmon for his "anti-Semitic" rhetoric.
Former US Marine O'Keefe is a Palestinian rights activist. He was aboard the flotilla when the Mavi Marmara was invaded by IDF thugs who murdered 9 innocent men, including an American citizen. While no one would dispute his courage, his gullibility is another thing; he is a contributor to the Veterans Today website which parrots this 9/11 was an inside job nonsense ad infinitum. Gilad is an unabashed admirer.
When one learns a bit about both men it is easy to see why this should be so; O'Keefe espouses openly the lunatic doctrine that white males are responsible for all the evils of the world, and for Atzmon, Zionists are an elite breed of such predatory white males. Granted that the former is also the line that is peddled in most of our schools under pressure from the politically correct "anti-racist" lobby, neither man asks how the world would have been a better place if someone else had developed and spread civilisation and technology to the four corners of the Earth. And neither do they see the Middle East tearing itself apart nor wars and famines in Africa, nor repression in Burma and other countries that owe absolutely nothing either to white racism, or capitalist oppression or the hidden hand of the Zionist lobby.
