New Orleans - Madonna earned boos at her “MDNA” concert in New Orleans after the singer urged them to vote for President Barack Obama in the upcoming election.
During Saturday night's performance, the Material Girl asked: "Who's registered to vote?" She added: "I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama."
When the audience booed in disapproval, Madonna said, “Seriously, I don't care who you vote for ... Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote.”
Some concertgoers immediately walked out of the show, New Orleans WWLTV reported.
Madonna is no stranger to controversy. According to MSNBC, some Colorado fans, mindful of a mass shooting there, complained she used a fake gun to shoot a masked gunman in a recent concert act in Denver.
And a Madonna concert in Paris in July drew ire when a video showed a swastika on a politician's forehead.
She then drew condemnation from Russian authorities by expressing support for LGBT rights during her St. Petersburg show, violating the city's newly introduced law against "homosexual propaganda," RT news reported.
Madonna completed the scandal trifecta with public nudity: She flashed her breasts in Istanbul and bared her backside in London.
