Curitiba - Internet meme generators have found a new subject for the ongoing Ridiculously Photogenic meme series, 30-year-old Rafael Nunes. A photo of The Ridiculously Photogenic Homeless Guy from Brazil has gone viral online.
The Ridiculously Photogenic meme series began with the "Ridiculously Photogenic Guy," moved on to the "Ridiculously Photogenic Girl," and then on to the "Ridiculously Photogenic Puppy." Now we have the Ridiculously Photogenic Homeless Guy.
The Huffignton Post reports that according to the Portuguese language website Reidaverdade.com, the photo of Rafael Nunes was snapped by a tourist in the Brazilian town of Curitiba. The photo has gone viral on Facebook, Imgur and Reddit.
The photo has been circulating online since last week with more than 40,000 shares on Facebook and thousands of points on Reddit, The Huffington Post reports.

The viral photo shows Nunes, an ex-model, wrapped in several layers of worn clothes, with a thick blanket thrown around his shoulders. In spite of the fact that his clothes look worn, they look clean, even freshly washed, and many have remarked that despite being homeless, Nunes has kept his good looks. News Media Rock Stars reports that a netizen comments on social media:
“Homeless? His hair is nice and clean, even cut. Facial hair is even and shaped. His eyebrows look like they've been plucked. ACTOR!”

Another commenter criticizes the photographer for not helping Nunes: “Can people stop just photoing hobos and taking care of them they fell through the cracks because no one cares.”
The Daily Mail observes that in spite of the desolate expression he wears in the photo, and his worn clothes, it was his stunning blue eyes that captured attention and won him 40,000 hearts online.

His past attempts at rehabilitation were unsuccessful, the Daily Mail reports. His newly found fame has provided the opportunity for another chance at rehabilitation. According to the Daily Mail, he was checked into a Sao Paulo clinic on October 20. Globo.com reports Nunes has been to rehab before, but his mother told Folha de Sao Paolo that the longest he has stayed was 10 days.

According to the New Media Rock Stars, after his photo went viral, a local reporter interviewed him for a local news show called “Balanca Geral,” in dim early morning lights with a bottle of beer in his hands (see video in Portuguese language below).

According to New Media Rock Stars, the reporter began the interview, saying:
“Here in the center of Curitiba we meet this former model turned homeless man using drugs. He is walking to this location, drinking beer and also, clearly under the influence of drugs.”
In the interview, Nunes acknowledged his drug problem and admitted it was the cause of his troubles. He rambled in distress: "Selling it, disgraced, laundering the money, disgraced. It’s killing my dad. It’s killing my mother, killing my brother." He rambled on: "And the society looks down on my situation. I've encountered people where, the worse your situation, the more they don’t even see that you’re human."
The video of the interview was uploaded on YouTube and has received over 600,000 views.
