A missing infant has been discovered dead. A family friend has been arrested and charged with murdering the child and the child's grandmother.
According to Boston Herald, the 10-month-old girl was discovered not far from where her grandmother was murdered. Investigators say that a family friend killed them in a ransom kidnapping that went botched.
According to CBS, Saanvi Venna went missing on October, 22, and she was found on Friday, October 26. According to Risa Vetri Ferman, the Montgomery County District Attorney, said that the suspect, Raghunandan Yandamuri, is facing charges that include robbery, kidnapping, murder and other related offenses.
According to NewsOK, Yandamuri, 26, was interviewed on Thursday, and that is when he told police where they could find the body.
According to the affidavit, the grandmother opened the door to Yandamuri on Monday morning, but she retreated to the kitchen when she saw he was armed with a kitchen knife. That was when he picked up the baby from the couch.
Yandamuri said that he dropped the child and the grandmother walked into the knife when she came towards him.
Before being arrested, Yandamuri assisted in the search for the child. He told police that he printed out missing-child posters and even attended a vigil for the child.
