Michael Stipe, the enigmatic ex-front man for R.E.M., has agreed to serve as Chief Council Member for the Moving The Still Festival for Paddle8 and Tumblr.
Stipe heads the judging body for the
Moving The Still festival which is the first open- call large scale event of its kind for GIF art which curators are hoping will be considered as a new genre in the digital art category.
"There is perhaps no one better suited to sit on this council than Michael Stipe for his love of beauty and his executed works of digital media and art and his passion for the evolution of the image is strong and profound. He is after all the creator of this show's title."
