article imageOp-Ed: The Anger in Ann — Ann Coulter calls Barack Obama a 'retard'

By Marcus Hondro     Oct 24, 2012 in Politics
Ann Coulter is joined at the hip to Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck and Ted Nugent, no? Yes. Each says things that on first blush, and on second, are offensive. It's the anger in Ann that does it and Monday her anger made her call Barack Obama a "retard."
She made the remark on social media during the debate, tweeting this: “I highly approve of Romney’s decision to be kind and gentle to the retard." It was actually a clever tweet, in a way, I mean she was using the ugly part of her nonsense, calling Obama a retard, to slip in the notion that Romney's poor performance was simply him being "kind and gentle". Now maybe it wasn't all that clever, it was easy to see through but, well, she was trying, her anger makes her try that sort of thing.
The Anger in Ann Coulter
But why so much anger in the first place? She and Rush and Beck and Nugent, and others, they just seem downright incensed by Barack Obama. They HATE him. But he's not a bad person, is he? I mean he's smart and he cares about his fellow Americans. Don't like the guy's policies? Okay. But why not tweet: "I highly approve of Romney's decision to talk policy (though he actually didn't do that) and to show Obama his stronger ideas."? Or maybe be honest about what was going on in the debate and tweet something along the lines of: "Romney needs to talk policy more, Obama's policies aren't helping our country."
The reason Coulter, who I believe is a political columnist in some publication somewhere, does not do something along those lines is of course that anger. It flies out of her gap and rushes right off of her keyboard. She feels better heaping vitriol on Obama and a world that doesn't agree with her. She's taken that anger and joined the Tea Party, that raging American voice that absolutely hates 'big-government' and 'out-of-control' spending. Ann and her friends get so mad about government spending!!!
And look how mad Rush is! Each day he rants vile things at anyone who doesn't agree with him. And Ted is so darned mad that he makes a veiled threat at that nasty president who makes him so crazy. Then there's mean talking Glen Beck, who once said he was "thinking about killing Michael Moore" and who insisted that Barack Obama "has a deep-seated hatred for white people." And now we have Ann calling Barack Obama a retard.
Coulter calls Obama a "retard"
Perhaps there's no solution for this one. After all, they seem to like being angry. And there are so many others like them and they all like to spew spew spew their anger. I'M ANGRY ANGRY ANGRY!!! But why why why? It's like they're angry at Obama they don't want anyone in need to be given a leg up. It's like they like seeing people suffering. Serves them right for not listening to Daddy! And should you try and dialogue with them they will be sarcastic or yell or blame or belittle. They will be - you got it - angry.
So just ignore them all then? Maybe it's all you can do; I mean they won't calm down, they do not want to be calm. So yeah, try to ignore them - try to ignore Ann Coulter - as best you can. Besides, in the final analysis you can't fight whatever maladjusted bile that lives inside of her and the others, certainly not if they won't fight it. And they won't. They can't.
