You are downtown calling a cab with your new iPhone when from the darkness some punk robs you of your new phone. When you pass it to him the white light of an electrical charge engulfs him. Punk whimpers "don't tase me bro" as he frenches the sidewalk.
This remarkable scenario was actually the real life inspiration for the phone case's creator Seth Froom who spearheaded the invention of the device in August 2011. It may have helped that Froom is an ex MP who has served for the US Armed forces who is " familiarized with multiple weapons systems" according to his brief bio.
As the vid explains the iPhone case packs a quite a wallop, when it releases a charge any assailant or potential threat receives a 650 volt electrical "sugar bear kiss" that may or may not result in a major cardiac event for the lucky "receiver"
As a bonus it also will recharge your smartphone battery for up to 20 hours!
