A video has surfaced online showing an object exploding near a downed player getting treatment by medical staff, during a game between Greek soccer clubs Anorthosis and Omonia Nicosia.
Luckily, no harm has come to any player in the vicinity of the explosive.
The YouTube
video of the incident shows an Anorthosis player on the ground getting medical help, and suddenly what is being
called a flare erupted right next to the group of men and exploded.
The blast cleared the area, forcing players to cover their ears and eyes. The video
shows players and physicians appealing to the crowd to calm down.
It's unclear whether the person who threw the explosive was caught, Yahoo Sports
writes.
In September, another explosive
disrupted a soccer match. In a game between Sepahan FC from Iran and Al Ahli from Saudi Arabia, a fan threw an explosive on the field, and before it exploded a player casually tossed it aside. It activated seconds later.
