Network Rail has launched a safety advertisement for TV. Short and to the point, it has become a big hit on YouTube, but will it save lives?
Network Rail is the company responsible for managing the rail network in the UK. Although it is far from the cheapest, train is the
safest way to travel. It is though not only occasional crashes but other, preventable accidents, that are a major cause of injury and death on the railways. Realistically, anyone who is hit by a train is not going to live to tell, like schoolgirls and friends
Olivia Bazlinton and Charlotte Thompson.
Not only do trains move fast but they can be surprisingly quiet, which is what
Distraction is all about in its 31seconds. It has already had a over 300,000
hits on YouTube. It was announced
October 8 although the company uploaded it to its YouTube channel 4 days earlier.
Although it might be regarded as mildly shocking, it is not as dramatic as the one made for
Australian television a few years ago, but the one that should really give kids nightmares, young girls especially, is this
road safety advert. Not because of the demonstration with the broken egg, but because it was made by
Jimmy Savile!
