Terri Graham bottlefeeds her children but breastfeeds her dog

A photo of a woman, Terri Graham, breastfeeding her dog has appeared in the UK edition of Closer magazine. The photo shows Graham, 44, breastfeeding her 9-year-old daughter's dog, a pug named Spider.

According to The Huffington Post, Graham, in an interview with Closer, said she is aware that many would say she is a "freak." She said, however, that breastfeeding the dog nourishes it and that her action makes her a better mother. She told Closer: "Having Spider suckle on my boob means I finally feel complete and a better mother." Gawker reports that the pug called Spider, was the "runt of the litter." Graham, a native of California, noticed in 2010 that Spider, who was refusing to eat its dog food, began licking the teat of the bottle Terri used to feed her son Lucas. Terri eventually allowed Spider have a go at her nipples and the bond was formed between woman and dog. She says she has breastfed Spider for 2 years. A photo of Graham breastfeeding her dog was posted to a Reddit forum dedicated to weird stories and it received more than 2,000 votes, rising to the site's front pages. Redditors posted many jokes and witty comments. A woman reported the case of a British woman who also allegedly breastfed her dog in 2010.

According to Gawker, Graham said she regrets that she was unable to breastfeed her two children who were bottlefed. She told Closer that she cherishes the opportunity of enjoying the "breastfeeding experience" with her dog. Gawker reports Graham said: "Her tongue tickles and I do feel her teeth, but she latches on in a way that they don't hurt me." She added: "I breastfeed Spider in front of the kids and they think it's amazing." The Daily Crabbie comments sarcastically: "They (the children) stand there in stupefied silence which means they think it's amazing. Wait until they get to school Terri: 'Is your mum the one who breastfeeds the dog?' And then no further words. Just flying kindergarten fists." Global Grind describes the story as one of the "grossest of 2012." According to The Huffington Post, a psychologist has suggested that Graham seek therapy. Closer magazine notes that even stranger incidents involving dogs have been reported in Britain where the people are famous as pet-lovers. In July 2011, a man was charged for violating bestiality laws in Ireland after a woman died from an allergic reaction following sexual intercourse with a dog. IB Times also reports that TLC's "Breaking Amish" focuses on bestiality among the Amish with allegations that bestiality "is part of Amish life."
