article imageUK's Bodyform company tells man mockingly 'Yes, we lied to you'

By Elizabeth Batt     Oct 17, 2012 in Odd News
When Richard Neill wrote to feminine hygiene company Bodyform UK demanding to know why his girlfriend wasn't bike riding and dancing during her monthly period like their ad suggested, the company's fake female CEO responded mockingly.
"As a man" said Richard Neill in a Facebook post, "I must ask why you have lied to us all these years.
I watched your advertisements ... as to how at this wonderful time of the month that the female gets to enjoy so many things. I mean bike riding, rollercoasters, dancing, parachuting."
Neill continues that he was jealous of all this until he got a girlfriend and found himself excited to be able to experience this "joyous, adventurous time of the month," alongside his love.
But "you lied" he said, "my lady changed from the loving, gentle, normal, skin-colored lady to the little girl from The Exorcist with added venom and extra 360-degree head spin ... thanks for setting me up for a fall Bodyform!"
Neill's full comment to the company can be viewed in this video, uploaded to the Bodyform Channel on YouTube yesterday:
In one of the best responses by a company ever, Bodyform UK told Neill:
Hi Richard. We loved your post on your Facebook page. We are always grateful for input from our users, but your comment was particularly poignant. If Facebook had a "love" button, we'd have clicked it. But it doesn't. So we've made you a video instead. Unfortunately Bodyform doesn't have a CEO. But if it did she'd be called Caroline Williams. And she'd say this.
Do let us know if we can help you further...

Ms. Williams then tells Neill that while they read the post with interest and a sense of foreboding, it's time we came clean. "We lied to you Richard, and I want to say sorry."
What follows is over two minutes of pure unadulterated sarcasm. "You forgot horseriding Richard," Williams says at one point and then, "I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you this, but there's no such thing as a happy period ... the reality is, some people simply can't handle the truth."
Rather than spoil Bodyform's brilliant response, watch it for yourself and prepare for the feminine cheers. Bloody priceless.
