The very popular ‘Find Yours’ online promotion on Expedia.com which features Twitter content and video uploads has gotten more than they bargained for last week.
A You-Tube video featuring a man taking a trip to California is getting some very mixed responses this week.
Some people were downright hateful in their comments but the ‘Likers’ on
Expedia’s Facebook page are outnumbering the haters. This short video highlights Artie Goldstein’s trip to his daughter’s same sex wedding. The insight of a father who loves his daughter and just wants her to be happy is the bottom line for Artie.
Expedia didn’t have to feature this video. They could have laid low. We all remember the backlash from Chick-Fil-A. Who needs that kind of publicity? Perhaps there really is no such thing as bad publicity? Either way, I applaud their effort and their fortitude.
In a time when corporate culture is so afraid to make a decision for fear of being unpopular, Expedia is standing up and celebrating their customers. All of them.
