Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson has his work cut out for him if he wants to make out with a decent percentage come election day. That's why he is doing all he can to appeal to young voters nationwide.
This week has been pretty eventful for Gov. Gary Johnson. First a video of the presidential candidate crowd surfing at a rally in Utah was circulated, then it was announced by Politico that Johnson is pulling more votes away from Obama than Romney in Nevada, proving many Republicans wrong who say "A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Obama". Gary Johnson has also been on the move on a national college tour in order to appeal to young voters that may otherwise be more appealed to by the more seemingly socially liberal Obama or not vote at all. On October 11th, Gov. Johnson held a rally at Virginia Commonwealth University where I was there to cover it.
Unlike most well-known political figures, presidential candidate Gary Johnson entered the rally quietly with no security. I guess he could hold his own if need be as he has submitted Mt. Everest with frost bitten toes and is an Iron Man Triathlete.
Gary Johnson poses with young voters, many of whom said that he will be their first vote in a presidential election, to which Johnson responded that his first vote for president was McGovern because of the Vietnam War.
