Yankee star Derek Jeter broke records for batting over 200 hits in post season play during the American League Championships before a serious injury struck.
Jeter was helped off of the field during the 12th inning of the ALCS Yankees-Tigers game after stumbling on a ground ball play. He was unable to put any weight on leg as his manager helped him off of the field.
Jeter is said to have broken his left ankle diving for a grounder hit by Jhonny Peralta. The word is that Jeter will be out of commission for at least three months.
Detroit won the game 6-4.
