A QVC host Cassie Slane, suddenly clutched her chest and collapsed on-air during the "Sundays with Carolyn and Dan" show, but her co-host Dan Hughes continued selling tablet computers even after Slane had fainted.
The two hosts were selling an Android tablet for children, but midway through the live broadcast Slane suddenly held her chest and slumped forward.
The video shows her saying "Kids love tablets. They love playing with tablets, they love the games," but she begins slurring her words, clutches her chest and falls against the co-host Dan Hughes.
The camera cut immediately to a shot of the product while Hughes asks "You Okay?" But it appears that QVC's policy is to continue selling come rain or sleet. Hughes, the professional salesman, simply continued hawking the product, extolling the virtues of the FunTabPro tablet while struggling to prop up Slane who had fallen against him.
Slane was helped back to her feet and she struggled to continue from where she left off. However, she soon started slurring her words again and the camera cut away again. Hughes finally acknowledges there is a problem. He says, "Cassie's having a little problem."
According to Fox News, another QVC host Carolyn Gracie, took over. Gracie, according to NY Daily News, later replied to an inquiry from a Facebook fan, saying, "Cassie is fine now, thank goodness! She had a couple of fainting spells due to low blood sugar. Poor thing. She is such a nice girl.”
On Monday, Slane tweeted: "Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Feeling better today."
Time reports she also wrote on her Facebook page: “Thanks to everyone for your kind words. I am feeling alot [sic] better today!”
According to NY Daily News, this is not the first time Slane has collapsed on-air. She collapsed during a QVC segment in August 2010.
