We've heard all sorts of rumors surrounding the smaller and cheaper iPad Mini. We've heard all sorts of rumors surrounding the smaller and cheaper iPad Mini. Apple will reportedly show off the iPad Mini on October 17.
Apple is supposed to be sending out invitations to the event on October 10 according to an insider purported to be a high level investor with Apple . The insider that he heard this information from multiple sources inside the company.
Like most Apple products before their official unveiling, the iPad Mini has never been confirmed as even existing by the company. Despite Apple not being willing to confirm that iPad Mini, most people believe it will sport a 7.85-inch screen and is set to challenge the Amazon Kindle Fire with a price of $199.
If the reports of this event taking place on October 17 can be believed and if Apple holds true to its usual pattern then the iPad Mini could be available for purchase as soon as November 2. That of course would mean that Apple could rake in all sorts of Holiday shopping cash. Having the event on October 17 would also make sense considering that it would be a full week before is slated to unveil their new Galaxy Note 2 on October 24. Apple certainly isn't above scheduling this type of announcement in a way that not only gets them the most attention, but also undercuts their competition. While all of this is still conjecture at this point, we won't have long to wait to see if there is any truth to these latest rumors.
