Milk is a good thing, right? And so is Justin Bieber. The issue is what happens when the latter has too much of the former. That's what Bieber said happened while kicking off his 'Believe' tour in Arizona Saturday night. The result? Kinda yucky.
The 18-year-old pop star was in the midst of opening his massive 'Believe' world tour in Glendale/Phoenix, in support of his most recent album of the same title, when he turned his back on the audience during 'Out of Town Girl'. Bieber appeared to be, and indeed was, puking. He did some of that then rushed offstage while his dancers continued dancing and his musicians kept playing. A pre-recorded Bieber vocal track, for moments when his dancing is too intense for vocals, also played.
Justin Bieber throws up onstage
The Biebs wasn't back stage long, likely finishing off the job before vaulting back onstage to actually complete the tune and go on from there. After 'Out of Town Girl' was over, the plucky Canadian then asked his audience if they would "...still love me even though I'm throwing up onstage?". Naturally the result there was a resounding round of cheering.
Bieber later tweeted the concert was a great success and that drinking too much milk before a performance was not a good idea; he also acknowledged some tour kick-off nerves may have played a role. His tour continues around North America through Christmas and he heads over the Europe in March.
Bieber dedicated the opening night to his six-year-old fan, Avalanna Routh, who suffered from a rare brain cancer and died Wednesday. Bieber had met the little girl from Massachusetts, who was known as 'Mrs. Bieber' in the hospital she was being treated in, and upon hearing of her passing tweeted: "just got the worst news ever. one of the greatest spirits i have ever known is gone. please pray for her family and for her.
"RIP Avalanna. i love you."
