article imageLady Gaga blames father for 25-pound weight gain

By Leo Reyes     Sep 25, 2012 in Entertainment
Lady Gaga is "blaming" her father for her 25-pound weight gain as she struggles to put herself on a diet after eating lots of pizzas at her father's newly-opened restaurant in New York.
Fresh from her overseas show in Amsterdam early this week, Gaga said she is not concerned about her weight gain but she told her fans she is now on a strict diet.
Omg.yahoo.com writes: "I'm dieting right now, because I gained, like, 25 pounds," the 26-year-old "Born This Way" singer told radio host Elvis Duran from Z100 in New York City.
"And you know I really don't feel bad about it, not even for a second. I have to be on such a strict diet constantly. It's hard because it's a quite vigorous show, so I tend to bulk up, get muscular, and I really don't like that. So I'm trying to find a new balance," Gaga added.
Gaga's father Joe Germanotta, has just opened a restaurant on Manhattan's Upper West Side in New York with Chef Art Smith.
During her show breaks, Gaga would visit her father's new restaurant to enjoy the food especially pasta and pizza.
"I love eating pasta and pizza," Gaga said. "I'm a New York Italian girl. That's why I have been staying out of New York. My father opened a restaurant. It's so amazing. ... It's so freaking delicious, but I'm telling you I gain five pounds every time I go in there. So my dad wants me to eat at the restaurant, and I'm, like, I've got to go where I can drink green juice."
Turning to her weight gain issue which is getting more attention lately than her musical and fashion engagements, Gaga has created a page in her website to address and encourage fans to "embrace and share their flaws," on the weight issues.
"My mother and I created the BORN THIS WAY FOUNDATION for one reason: "to inspire bravery," Gaga said on the site, via mtv.com.
"This profile is an extension of that dream. Be brave and celebrate with us your 'perceived flaws,' as society tells us. May we make our flaws famous, and thus redefine the heinous." In another post, the singer wrote, "Now that the body revolution has begun, be brave and post a photo of you that celebrates your triumph over insecurities."
The popular singer-songwriter has close to 30 million followers on Twitter who are expected to support her body revolution campaign dubbed "A Body Revolution 2013."
It was earlier reported on techcrunch.com Tuesday that Gaga will hit the 30 million followers on Twitter in 12 days.
