Video: Lucky truck driver cheats death and catapults to safety

Russia appears to be famous, not only for freak traffic accidents, but also for dashboard cameras who manage to catch them on video, as in this example.

In this accident, a Russian truck driver narrowly escapes death when flying through the windshield of his vehicle. The video was uploaded to YouTube on Monday, showing an anonymous vehicle traveling down a rural Russian road. As a truck driver ahead of the vehicle attempts to make a left-hand turn, another truck in the oncoming lane suddenly barrels into view, and then swerves to hit the back end of the turning truck. Then, as the right hand side of the oncoming vehicle is demolished by the impact, the driver is catapulted through his front windshield, and lands squarely on his feet, right in front of his truck. He then circles the wreckage of the vehicles, scratching his head, as if in disbelief that he is alive after the incident. One witty commenter on the video says, "Russian airbag system, it also ejects a blanket in case it's cold outside."
