A five-year-old boy died after he suffered a severe head injury as a result of falling off a diving board in Central Florida.
According to The Sacramento Bee, five-year-old Ian Freeman died on Friday night in hospital, where he had spent over a week in critical condition.
According to WFTV, the incident occurred in early September during a privately run program that was held at Lake Brantley High School.
Authorities say that during private diving practice, Ian fell 9 feet and landed right onto the pool deck.
According to Fox, the mother was there when the whole thing took place.
The family released a statement on Saturday, saying that Ian had passed away, and that they plan on donating Ian's organs.
