No longer will Twitter users have to turn to third party applications in order to save their best or funniest tweets for posterity.
Twitter CEO Dick Costolo has announced that in the very near future, users of his social networking site will be able to download any or all of their tweets to their desktops. While some may not see the need for such a function, others do use Twitter as a microblogging platform in which they record their thoughts on day to day functions. It's possible those same people would like to look at those tweets on the whole as a sort of digital snapshot of what was going on from one day to the next.
Twitter has been launching a whole slew of different features over the last few weeks including a revamped mobile profile with more easily viewed pictures.
Another tweak that may be coming down the pike in the near future is allowing third party companies to find a way to collect massive amounts of tweets that surround an important topic or event. Twitter also wants to find a way to add live polls or other information into this collection of tweets.
