ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - Contestants vying for the coveted Miss America 2002 crown will remember this once-in-a-lifetime experience with photographs that will last a lifetime, thanks to the only desktop archival ink jet printer, the EPSON Stylus Photo 2000P.
Throughout the two weeks leading up to and including the Miss America telecast on Sept. 22, Miss America veteran photographer Bruce Boyajian is once again capturing contestants' activities, from rehearsals to the final competition itself. And for the second year in a row, Boyajian has selected the award-winning EPSON Stylus Photo 2000P to print these photographs. This printer features breakthrough archival ink technology that delivers photographic quality digital prints that have lightfastness that has been rated over 100 years, while also giving photographers greater control over their work.
"Contestants who are part of the Miss America program want high-quality, long-lasting photographs to remember this experience for years to come, so this is the perfect place to spotlight the benefits of archival photographic ink jet printing," said Keith Kratzberg, director, photo imaging, Epson. "Epson is changing the picture of photography for both professionals and amateurs by delivering superior image quality, longevity and ease of use to give photographers control over their work. We are honored that the Miss America Organization continues to use Epson to record this event that is so rich in history."
Miss America officials said using the best digital photo printing technology to help contestants preserve their treasured memories is important.
"We want the photographs to be as special as each of these outstanding young women," said Robert M. Renneisen Jr., president and chief executive officer of the Miss America Organization. "The Epson printers enable us to give the contestants the highest-quality photographs quickly and conveniently that they will treasure for the rest of their lives."
The EPSON Stylus Photo 2000P features a breakthrough that couples the image quality of Epson's dye-based inks and papers with the longevity of pigment. Using EPSON Archival Ink technology and certain compatible Epson papers, the EPSON Stylus Photo 2000P produces photographic images that will last over 100 years. It also uses the company's award-winning Advanced Micro Piezo Technology and durable permanent print head to eliminate misting, provide consistent dot size and shape, and ensure accurate dot placement with 1440 x 720 dpi resolution. The intuitive coverage of Variable Sized MicroDroplet Technology delivers the widest color range of pigment with visibly continuous tone quality, using tiny ink particles as small as 0.1 microns for the finest detail and gorgeous highlights.
Designed to address the needs of photographers, the EPSON Stylus Photo 2000P has a large printable area up to 13" x 44." Eliminating left and right margins, the printer also features 4", 8.3" and 13" edge-to-edge printing on both cut-sheet and roll paper.
