Another week and another legal issue for actress Lindsay Lohan. This time, the actress was arrested, accused of hitting a pedestrian with her Porsche and leaving the scene.
MTV quotes a police spokesman saying Lohan was pulling into a parking garage with her Porsche Cayenne just after midnight, at a low rate of speed, when she clipped the knee of a man walking by. MTV says one of the passengers in the car reportedly checked it for damage before Lohan parked the vehicle and went into a nightclub.
The New York Daily News reports Lohan was trying to get through a crowd of people in an alley beside the Dream Downtown, a hotel/nightclub in the Meatpacking District, when the incident happened. A police spokesperson says, "She's driving in this freight area, going very slow. She's hitting her horn because there's a lot of people in the area. The crowd moves but she kind of brushes against this one guy. He runs up to her, tells her she hit him. They get out of the car, there's some interaction with her, her entourage and the guy."
Police say a complaint was filed by an unknown person and Lohan was arrested outside the Dream Hotel around 2:30 am, and booked on a misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing injury. She was released without posting any bail and was ordered to return for a hearing at a later date.
The police spokesperson says the victim was taken to hospital, complaining of a knee injury.
The 26-year-old actress is currently on probation from a 2011 jewelry theft case.
