article imageJim Marshall tribute at London's Wembley Arena this Saturday

London - Jim Marshall died April 12 this year. On Saturday there will be an event at Wembley Arena to celebrate his innovation. Which was what?
If the name means nothing to you, you can read a bit about him here, but the bottom line is that if you are a Deep Purple fan, a Rainbow fan, if you like Led Zeppelin and not a few other rock groups, chances are your enjoyment owes a considerable debt to Mr Marshall, or James Charles Marshall OBE to give him his full title.
Unlike Les Paul he may not have played guitar for a living, but like Paul he did much to develop the sound of the instrument.
Music people may do all sorts of things they shouldn't, including certain illicit substances we won't mention here, but they have a long track record of honouring their own. Saturday evening at London's Wembley Arena is an event celebrating Marshall 50 Years of Loud! Legendary guitarist Joe Satriani is just one of the big names who will be performing.
