Graphic images are being circulated online showing Kourtney Kardashian pulling out her new child Penelope, at the last stage of labor. The photos are screenshots of her televised delivery from E!'s season finale of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians."
Jezebel reports that the entire Kardashian clan was present at the delivery of Penelope Scotland Disick, including Kim's boyfriend, Kanye West.
According to the Daily Mail, at the final moment of the delivery, Kourtney reached down and pulled the baby out with her hands. The unusual delivery was witnessed and caught on camera by an entire film crew. The Sun reports that present at the delivery were Kim, Khloe, Rob, younger half siblings Kendall and Kylie, mother of the Kardashians Kris Jenner, and Kourtney's boyfriend Scott Disick.
She delivered the baby at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
According to NY Daily News, the baby, Penelope Scotland Disick, was born on July 8 and weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces. Kourtney relived the moment by watching the Sunday show. She tweeted as she watched on TV: "Wow! Crazy to watch this! Magical."
The Daily Mail reports Khloe said after the birth: "Kourtney just loves to pull out her own children." Mother Kris Jenner, said: "It's such a magical feeling to say hello to my baby girl. Watching my daughter give birth, it reminds me, it doesn't get better than this."
According to the Daily Mail, Kourtney remained calm but tearful. Her mother Kris Jenner, was emotional and almost in tears. Kourtney said: 'I'm feeling very emotional and anxious. Even though I've done all this before."
Her two-and-a-half year old son Mason, was confused about the name of the new baby. When Kourtney told him that the baby's name is Penelope, he replied, "No, her name is sister."
The Christian Post reports the filming sparked outrage in some quarters. According to the website, "Stunned viewers took to social networking site Twitter, where many complained and blasted the footage as being inappropriate for television."
The Christian Post reports a Twitter user, "lollipop26," said: "Seeing as nothing is sacred to this family maybe next season we will see them going to the [bathroom]."
But as The Christian Post notes, this is not the first time Kourtney has filmed the process of her delivery and her unusual "hands-on" delivery method. She filmed the birth of her first child, Mason Dash, in December 14, 2009.
The Daily Mail reports the Kardashians celebrated the expected baby by holding a shower with flamingos and pink candy floss in the pool. Hip-hop star Kanye West, Kim's boyfriend, was present, looking slightly out of place among the women, The Daily Mail comments. Kim commented about her relationship with West: "It feels really good for Kanye to be here with my family. Just to see how close of a family we are. I really feel like I'm in a great relationship but I'm not going to rush it."
Kim said she was happy that Khloe had given approval of her relationship with Kanye after the unpleasant divorce affair with her ex-husband Kris Humphrey. Khloe told Kanye, in what was supposed to be a private moment, "I'm happy that you guys are finally doing your thing. You understand each other's lives." Kanye answered: "I think I'm very content. In every way."
The Sun reports that in contrast to the happy story of Kourtney's delivery, was the news that Khloe was consulting with fertility specialists. She said: "Statistically if you have been trying for a year, and nothing happened, you need to take some other steps. I don't think my family realise how hard it is for me to talk about this."
According to Khloe, doctors say she is not ovulating and that she will need to take medications and injections to help her produce eggs. She said: "I am not ovulating. I now have to be put on a chemical to spark some chemical to make my body release an egg."
Khloe explained the situation to her husband Lamar Odom, and said: "Everything we get through makes us stronger."
Kim also informed her mother she has decided to freeze her eggs. She said: "I'm glad I'm freezing my eggs. I want to be prepared when the time is right."
