Today marks the first anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement. They are out and about in the Wall Street area today.
Regrettably the anniversary started with dozens of arrests as OWS protesters tried to block access to the New York Stock Exchange. As activists attempted to have a sit-down protest to mark the anniversary, hundreds of police gathered, following related unrest which happened on Saturday.
Hundreds of police barricaded the New York Stock Exchange as Occupy Wall Street protesters swarmed the Financial District for the movement's one-year anniversary, with over 100 reportedly arrested.
