A 59-year-old Tulsa woman was discovered locked in a deep freezer where she apparently sought shelter during severe storms that raced through the area five days before she was found.
Tulsa police spokeswoman Jillian Roberson says the woman climbed into the freezer in fear of bad weather but was unable to get out after the storm passed, according to a Fox News report.
The woman was discovered by concerned relatives who decided to go to the woman’s apartment complex to check on her.
After she was freed from the freezer, she was transported to a Tulsa hospital where she is listed in fair condition.
The woman was treated for exposure and frostbite and expected to survive.
Police say no foul play is suspected in the incident.
