If there was no such thing as bad luck, David Weber would have no luck at all. He attempted to buy a beer with a credit card that the bartender quickly recognized did not belong to the homeless man.
The Miami Herald reports, police in Miami Beach say a car was broken into while parked in a parking garage on Monday night. All that was taken in the theft was a credit card.
Weber was apparently thirsty. So shortly after the theft occurred, the 53-year-old walked into the bar at The Clevelander hotel and ordered a beer. For payment, he tendered the credit card. But there was a problem; the man behind the bar knew the card did not belong Weber; it was his [the bartender's].
After the initial shock of realizing the man was trying to use his credit card had worn off, the bartender called police. Officers with the Miami Beach Police Department went to The Clevelander and arrested Weber. He was booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail and faces charges of theft and credit card fraud.
