A rep for Chris Brown denies the singer's new tattoo is an image of Rihanna or any other abused woman. His publicist says it's a MAC Cosmetics design of a 'sugar skull,' associated with Mexico's Day of the Dead celebration.
The tattoo is a hot topic online, with speculation about what the design means.
But tattoo artist Peter Koskela tells Entertainment Weekly Brown brought him the MAC Cosmetics design of a skull, to convert to a tattoo.
Despite the statements though, many are still speculating the tattoo closely resembles a bruised photo of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, from 2009 when she filed abuse charges against Brown.
The New York Daily News reports Brown's rep says the tattoo is now peeling, which makes it look different from how Brown had imagined it.
The two stars have reportedly been dating off and on recently. A kiss by the couple, during last week's MTV Video Music Awards increased speculation that they were getting back together, especially after Rihanna told Oprah during an interview last month, “I truly love him.” "I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help."
