Street nurse Anne Marie Batten said that Tzu Chi comes to Street Health at least twice a year to help those who live on the street.
The members of the foundation that were on hand today were very humble as they gave to the street people who showed up. Over 200 people came for sandwiches and gift packs. Each one of those who were given a pack also were thanked with a true smile.
Tzu Chi Canada is also known as Buddhist Compassion Relief. It was founded in 1992 by Mr. Gary Ho in Vancouver. Today in Canada there are over 11,500 donors. Tzu Chi Foundation was founded in Taiwan in 1966 by a group of housewives. The 30 women saved 2 cents a day from their grocery money to help the poor. The focus of the foundation remains on helping the needy with love and humanity.
