article imageMontreal World Film Festival 2012 wrap-up

By Richard Mccallum     Sep 9, 2012 in Entertainment
Montreal - Montreal and Toronto first started giving Film Festivals at about the same time, and while there is no doubt that TIFF went Hollywood, Montreal's World Film Festival shifted its focus to the world.
Last week Quebec 's labor day holiday spun into a heart stopping provincial election culminating with a violent attack by a lone gunmen on the province's first woman premier.
So to say that the winners of the 2012 edition of Montreal's annual Festival des Filmes du Monde /World Film Festival were lost in the ensuing mainstream media's wildly hysterical "chickenlittling" cacophony may be similar to comparing "eastwooding" to serious political debate, that it is a mumbling and unclear understatement of the facts.
So by the miracle of the intranet DJ rushes to the scene to correct this unfair balance in that star crossed universe that is Hollywood.
May I have the envelope please,
