article imagePromotional poster and trailers for The Walking Dead released

By Chanah Rubenstein     Sep 7, 2012 in Entertainment
With the fall television season just about under way, AMC has recently released the poster for season three of The Walking Dead, which airs in October. The image is dark, looming and captioned with the ominous tag line, ‘Fight the dead. Fear the living'
The hit television show, known for its graphic and life-like gore, is set to return and viewers have been warned: this season is going to be intense.
The recently released poster shows a lone Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincon) standing atop an overturned bus and aiming his gun at someone. The prison, which was discovered at the end of season two, sits in the background. Who he's shooting at is yet to be seen, but the poster hints that while the dead are a menace, the living can be just as, if not more, deadly - it could be anyone.
The trailers provide us with the zombie action viewers want to see, but also provides a glimpse into the story and the new characters being introduced.
The prison is the main locale for zombie action, but we’re also introduced to the Governor (played by David Morrissey) and his small town of survivors in Woodbury. A popular character from the graphic novels, Michonne (played by Danai Gurira) is introduced as the fearless hunter with the leashed and armless ‘pet’ walkers (zombies).
The new season kicks off on Sunday, October 14th, at 9 p.m. on AMC. The 16 episodes will be separated into two parts, with the final eight episodes airing sometime in February of 2013. It is being reported that the first episode is entitled ‘Seed’ and is directed by Ernest Dickerson (The Wire, Dexter, Juice.)
