Despite a very public breakup from her "Twilight" co-star, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart made her first appearance since the ordeal at the opening of her new film, "On the Road," at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Fans lined outside Ryerson University, at the campus theatre on Thursday evening for a chance to catch a glimpse of the star, who wore a glittering Zuhair Murad dress.
As the anticipation built, crowds screamed, "Kristen, we love you!" Others held up signs in support of the actress, with the words " We stand by you always, Kristen."
The event was rumoured to be the first time Stewart stepped back into the spotlight after apologizing for having an affair with her married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders.
