article imageVideo: Chinese man builds his own Lamborghini Reventon

By Anne Sewell     Sep 1, 2012 in Driving
Ever dreamed of owning a Lamborghini? This Chinese mechanic not only dreamed about it, he went ahead and built his very own.
A Lamborghini Reventon is a rare car, as there are only 21 in existence.
If you could find one to buy, it would knock you back about $1.5 million.
However, 28-year-old Wang Jian, son of a farmer in China's eastern Jiangsu province, is a mechanic with a dream.
He took two old cars - a Nissan and a Volkswagen, ripped them up and put together a replica Lamborghini Reventon.
It still has a few finishing touches to add, including headlights, but for around $9,500 he has a pretty good car.
He says, "I've always loved sports cars since I was a child. After growing up, I thought of making my own."

"When I had the knowledge, and the time was right, I assembled it myself and realized my dream."
"I want to make a sports car that has superior performance in every way. One day I want to manufacture a super car for myself, researching and designing it on my own."
Until then, Wang Jian has a pretty impressive Lamborghini Reventon replica to run around town in.
