Novak Djokovic, the world’s number two-ranked tennis player behind Roger Federer, received an unusual request during a practice session earlier this week, ahead of the US Open.
Djokovic was in preparation for his defence of his US Open crown, which he won in 2011.
GSN reports that during the practice session, a boy called to the Sebian tennis player from the crowd, shouting “Djokovic! Will you marry me?”
Smiling, Djokovic walked over to the stands and invited the boy on to the court to hit some serves with him.
The whole event was captured on video and published by Towleroad.
After the session, Djokovic then gave the lad a hug, before he headed back into the crowd.
On Tuesday, Novak Djokovic won his match 6–1, 6–0, 6–1 against Italy's Paolo Lorenzi.
