Lindsay Lohan and her assistant are now formally considered suspects in the theft of $100,000 worth of watches and sunglasses from a friend's home.
TMZ reports LiLo, and her assistant Gavin Doyle, attended a party at the Hollywood Hills home of millionaire Sam Magid a week ago. But Fox News says following the all-nighter, when Lohan tried to leave around noon the next day, Magid noticed the expensive watches and sunglasses were missing and he told everyone to stay put as he called the cops.
Sources tell TMZ that both Lohan and Doyle are considered suspects. The website says it now has learned that Magid has changed his story and said nothing was stolen but that LAPD are not closing the case just yet. TMZ says police sources say independent witnesses have come forward accusing Lohan and Doyle of taking the loot.
TMZ says those police sources also say that when detectives contacted the star's lawyer to request an interview with the two suspects, the lawyer rejected the request. The case is now apparently headed to the office of the District Attorney.
Fox says Lohan is still on probation following the theft of a necklace from a Venice, California jewelry store, a year ago. And if found guilty again, she could face jail for violating probation.
As if that isn't enough bad news for LiLo, TMZ says she's also under investigation for lying to investigators after a car crash, saying she was only a passenger in the car. Again if convicted, that would be another possible violation of her probation.
Her outspoken dad, Michael Lohan, went on Twitter, saying, "I will NOT let Lindsay go down for this. I have Irrefutable PROOF from the owner himself that he said NOTHING was stolen! Typical tabloid BS."
