article imageBill Nye the science guy death Twitter hoax

By Melissa Horrocks     Aug 27, 2012 in Science
Bill Nye has strong beliefs in evolution that he does not mind airing. However, he was almost made extinct recently on Twitter.
Recently Bill Nye has been the center of a viscous hoax on Twitter, that has claimed The Science Guy was dead. Bill Nye is the latest victim on Twitter that has also seen Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift become victims. The sick rumor began on Sunday night, until it was trending. Thousands of messages from mourners poured into the social media website. However, it is 100% false and has no truth in it, whatsoever. Nye was also rumored to have died twice last year, according to TheWall.com.
According to Gossipcop.com, during the summer, death hoaxes claimed that Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift had died. It's a cruel and sick way of torturing fans who believe their favourite celebrity has died.
Bill Nye was formerly a children's show host who has spoken out about the denial of evolution. Bill Nye has praised America for its contribution to the technological world, but also claims that the denial of evolution is unique to the United States. He spoke of how complicated a person's world becomes when they dismiss evolution. Nye believes that to be a scientist, evolution goes hand in hand. He said that if adults do not believe in evolution, then they should not try to teach their children otherwise. To do so would be to limit their education and cause problems with their lives. According to Nye, the world needs children to believe in evolution, reports ABC News.
