), and shows the woman absent-mindedly stepping off the platform at the MIT/Kendall Square station in Cambridge, falling onto the tracks and narrowly missing the electrified third rail.
Commuters on the scene are being praised for their quick response in rescuing the woman and her four-year-old son.

, Meera Thakrar of Attleboro, thought the train on the outbound platform at the station in Cambridge was at her platform. Thakrar says she didn't even think, she just walked right off the edge of the platform and crumpled to the ground.
