An estimated 2 million spectators crowded the beaches and parks near Lake Michigan in Chicago this past weekend to catch one of the most exciting shows of the year. The 2012 Chicago Air and Water Show.
Crowds gathered around North Avenue beach as well as other parts of the Chicago lakefront to watch the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the U.S. Army Golden Knights, the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs, The Aeroshell Aerobatic Team, among others performing unbelivable stunts above Lake Michigan this past weekend. What is an annual weekend long free event in Chicago, you can hear the roar of the planes from all over the city. Crowds started to file in as early as 5am on Saturday for the 10am show which ended with the ever impressive Blue Angels as rock music blasted from the speakers while the pilots entertained the estimated 2 million people in attendance untill the finale at 3pm. Then again on Sunday. Clear blue skies and warm summer weather made for a perfect day at the beach.
