Op-Ed: Killer uses her bra to strangle elderly neighbor

One woman tried to keep abreast of the situation by strangling her elderly neighbor with her bra because he refused to buy alcohol for her.

I thought this was going to be the punchline to a joke when I read the title, but I was sadly disappointed. In fact, there's no laughing matter in this story whatsoever. I just think it's rather strange to strangle someone with your bra, but that's what happened to one Russian woman. The 26-year-old woman from the town of Zakamensk, in eastern Siberia, just on the border of Mongolia, was charged with the murder of her elderly neighbor. The investigative committee in Buryatia said that the 26-year-old was drunk when she and her boyfriend asked their 65-year-old neighbor for cash to buy alcohol with, one evening in July. The elderly man refused to lend them money and the woman punched him in the face. After punching him in the face, she tried to strangle him with her hands, before removing her bra and strangling him with it. Although the woman has not been named, she is in custody awaiting the end of the investigation, reports The Independent. According to Heavy.com, the woman in East Siberia used her imagination for her murder weapon. Instead of using a gun, she used her bra. However, it's hardly a good excuse to murder someone just because she wanted some alcohol. Surely, it would have been better to break into an alcohol store if she was that desperate? At least that way, nobody would have been killed. ABC News reports, that she is in custody waiting the end of the probe.
