Greater Manchester Police have released CCTV images of two men wanted in connection with an offence of homosexual rape. Police in London are looking for a knifeman who attacks women.
Although the homosexual rape of a 14 year old boy in Manchester city centre took place over two months ago, the police have only just released CCTV images of the two men they would like to question in connection with this offence.
The men - one white and one Asian - are said to have abducted the victim in broad daylight and led him to a toilet in a department store where one of them sodomised him.
The sickness of this offence is matched only by its brazenness. As will be seen above, the CCTV images are far from clear, but the Asian assailant is clearly recognisable, so it shouldn't be too long before they are brought to book.
The offence happened on June 2, and the only reason the police appear to have given for the delay in releasing the images is that they were waiting on the results of forensic tests, which surely can't have taken the best part of 12 weeks for a case as serious as this. It remains too to see why they had to wait for the forensics, especially as a crime of this nature may not be an isolated incident, still, better late than never.
In the capital a lone attacker is committing assaults which although not sexual are of a potential far more serious nature under cover of darkness. On August 7, a young woman was attacked in Hounslow by a man who cut her across the neck, apparently with a knife. Ten days later, another woman was the victim of a similar attack. The injuries they sustained while serious, could have been a great deal worse. As with the Manchester attack, police have issued a CCTV still of a suspect.

The Met will be especially concerned about attacks of this nature in Hounslow, as that was the stomping ground of serial killer Levi Bellfield.
From two potentially very dangerous attacks to one that is unspeakable. Be warned, the next photograph is quite shocking. It shows the face of young mother Natalie Allman and the price she paid for splitting up with Jason Hughes, the father of her twin sons. The details of this prolonged and sustained attack are if anything even more horrifying.
Hughes was given a 9 year sentence, which is certainly not excessive. He should be thankful he is not serving a life sentence because with her throat injuries on top of the others, it is a wonder that Natalie survived.
