An unknown Islamic group claims responsibility for the grad rockets fired into Eilat on Wednesday. The rockets landed outside of the main tourist area. An outdoor event was halted as a precaution; No one was injured, no injuries or damage were reported.
According to Israel's
Ynet news more than one group are claiming responsibility for grad attacks on Israel's southern tourist resort Eilat.
An unknown Islamist group calling itself 'Ansar al-Quds' has announced their involvement in Wednesday's attack and another group called the 'Sinai Salafist Front' claimed responsibility for previous attacks but have not pointed to Wednesday's attack specifically.
The number of
attacks on Eilat and
route 12 and the surrounding area has increased over the last 6 months.
The comment and reaction
reported in Haaretz of an Eilat resident to the latest attack is:
"We heard two blasts, one following the other...We are not afraid of anyone."
