article imageKristen Stewart — KStew dropped from Snow White sequel

By Lesley Lanir     Aug 15, 2012 in Entertainment
Universal has stopped its plans to produce a sequel to 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and Kristen Stewart will not be starring in any follow-up.
The Hollywood Reporter states that Universal will most likely focus on a spin off about a solo Huntsman movie starring just Chris Hemsworth.
It is not clear whether director Rupert Sanders whom Stewart was 'having a romantic affair with' will return.
A news report on Digital Journal yesterday pointed to the relationship upheaval between Stewart and Robert Pattinson after Kstew and Sanders were caught kissing. An act which Stewart described a "momentary indiscretion" that jeopardized the most important thing in [her] life."
According to Box Office Mojo Snow White and the Huntsman was a modest hit for Universal, grossing $150 million in the US and under $390 million worldwide on a production budget of $170 million. The decision to drop Stewart, a top Hollywood star since the Twilight movies, would reduce millions from the cost of producing a second movie.
The Hollywood Reporter quotes a Universal spokesman as saying:
"The studio is currently exploring options to continue the franchise."
