By golly, Joe the Plumber is just sick and doggone tired of them there illegal Mexicans sneaking across our border to snatch up all them good "termater" pickin' jobs that American workers so desperately crave.
So Joe, whose real name is Sam Wurzelbacher, and he's not even really a plumber although he played one during the 2008 McCain campaign, has called on the National Guard troops stationed along the Arizona border to turn around, face the border, and "start shooting."
We are not making this up.
According to Think Progress, Wurzelbacher -- who has actually won the Republican primary for Congress in the heavily Democratic 9th District of Ohio for some unknown reason -- made an appearance at a fundraiser for a Republican Arizona State Senator candidate over the weekend, and told the audience that the way to solve the country’s immigration problem is to station troops along the border and have them “start shooting.”
“For years I’ve said, you know, put a damn fence on the border going to Mexico and start shooting. I’m running for Congress and that should be a bad thing to say. But you know what, it’s how I feel…I want my borders protected, I’m very very adamant about that.”Well, gol' durn it, as soon as them Mexico people start trippin' over the corpses of them other Mexico folk what done got shot by our brave troops who we should be encouraging to shoot unarmed human beings like good Americans, they'll get the idea through their sombrero-wearin' skulls and head back down to their own haciendas and steal from their own neighbors, and not yours!
Holyolke, Massachusetts, it's about TIME American had some common sense thinking like that in Warshinton, don'cha just think?Or don'cha?
Joe certainly does not. Think, that is.
Now we see you sitting there, looking at your computer screen and saying, "No way. A man running for Congress does NOT call for National Guard troops to shoot unarmed people. That sounds more like something the Gestapo would do, not people wearing the American flag on their uniform sleeves."
Apparently Wurzelbacher didn't think you'd believe it, either. So he said it again at another fundraiser the next morning.
“I’m running for Congress. How many congressmen or people running for Congress have you heard, put a fence up and start shooting? None? Well you heard it here first. Put troops on the border and start shooting, I bet that solves our immigration problem real quick."Yer right, Joe! We ain't never heerd no Congresscritter callin' for wholesale murder before, at least not so blatantly.
No wonder you're the darling of the Tea Party.
